John Hood is president of the John William Pope Foundation, a North Carolina-based grantmaker, and a syndicated columnist. The author of 10 books, Hood teaches public policy at Duke University and serves on the boards of State Policy Network, the College Fix, the John Locke Foundation, and North Carolina Public Radio, among other organizations.
